Josh Kelley Homecoming!

You might have heard that Grammy Award-winning country music trio Lady Antebellum – featuring native sons Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley – will be coming to Augusta in November. What you might not know that Charles’ brother, Josh Kelley, is coming home, too… and he’s gone country.

Josh, a singer/songwriter best known for his top five hit Amazing and his marriage to actress Katherine Heigl, will be debuting his new music at the Bell Auditorium on Saturday, August 28. It is a concert you don\'t want to miss.

The Young Philanthropist concert will benefit the John W. Kelley, M.D., Cardiovascular Endowment, which was established to honor Josh’s father, who retired from the Augusta medical community in March 2006 after practicing cardiology in the CSRA for 28 years.

Josh Kelley grew up in Augusta and discovered his musical talents at age 11, when he started a band with his younger brother, Charles. Josh recently joined the Universal Music Group Nashville family, signing with MCA Nashville in September 2009.  He is currently in the studio recording his first country album and is expected to release his debut single later this year.

"The Foundation is thrilled that Josh has agreed to debut songs from his new country album in his hometown at our 2010 Young Philanthropist fundraising event," said Trish Thornhill, Young Philanthropist Committee Chair. "I think it is safe to say that Josh is also excited about the event and about helping to raise money for his father’s endowment. It should be a fun night for everyone."

Tickets for the show are on sale at the Bell Auditorium box office. A night with Josh Kelley is presented by University Health Care Foundation and sponsored by Mercedes Benz of Augusta, Piedmont Heart Institute, Allgood Professional Services, Suntrust, The Vein Guys at Vein Care Pavilion, Comcast and HD98.3!
